This week we are looking at a well known story of Jesus visiting his hometown, teaching and performing miracles, only to be met with suspicion and rejection. As you read through this story in Mark 6:1-6, ponder some of these questions:

Why does familiarity cloud the townspeople's view of who Jesus really is? Does familiarity ever hinder us in knowing Jesus more?

This is the first time Jesus refers to himself as a prophet? How does this rejection of him align with the rejection of Israel's past prophets?

Consider the relationship between what Jesus can/will do and our own faith. How should this inform how we have faith and how we pray?
