This week we are finishing up our discussion on Trees in the second movement of Genesis found in Genesis 11:27-25:17. Take some time to read through Chapters 20-24 specifically. When we are talking about trees, we are also talking about bushes and wood in general. These images come up more often in the second portion of our discussion. Hagar laying Ishamel under a bush in the desert, Abraham planting a tamarisk tree after making a treaty with Abimelek, Isaac carrying the wood for his own sacrifice, The substitute ram being found in a bush, and eventually Abraham returning to Mamre to bury Sarah. All of these point to a key idea that the Lord Sees. God will see to it. He will provide. Can you pick out some of the ideas from last weeks sermon in these examples of trees?
