Jesus was just a teacher right? He was preaching, he was healing others. Surely he wasn't doing anyone any harm... Yet in our passage this week, we see Christ's journey to the cross begin. The Pharisees have had enough and begin to plot how they were going to kill Jesus. We are looking at Mark 3:1-6. Once again, Jesus heals someone on the Sabbath, and once again, Jesus challenges the Pharisees with the hardness of their hearts. As you study this week, ponder some of these questions.
As Jesus asks which is lawful on the Sabbath... what was the law of the Sabbath surrounding healing?
Why were the Pharisees looking for a reason to accuse Jesus?
What example does Jesus set for us surrounding the Sabbath and even more broadly?
Examine your own heart with the example of Jesus. Is it stubborn like the Pharisees? Is your heart attitude wrong? Are you humble enough to ask yourself this question?
