This week we are continuing in our Mark series looking at Mark 2:13-17. Here we see the second recorded confrontation with Jesus and the Teachers of the Law also mixed with the second recorded event of Jesus calling one of his apostles, Levi the Tax Collector, whom we also know as Matthew.
As you look at the text ahead of Sunday, ponder some of these questions:
What was significant about Tax Collectors? Why were they grouped together with the "sinners"?
Why does Jesus specifically use a metaphor about Doctors and the sick?
What is the relationship we see in this text between Jesus' Calling and Healing?
