This Sunday we are looking at the next conflict that Jesus has with the Jewish Leaders in the Temple. This time Jesus is challenged by the Sadducees. This is the first and only time that we are introduced to the Sadducees in Mark. Take some time before Sunday and research who the Sadducees were and what they believed. This can be helpful in understanding Jesus' answer to them. 

Jesus' primary concern with the Sadducees and their hearts is that they fail to understand and know the scriptures and the power of God.

In our own faith, do we really let ourselves understand the power of God? Or are we putting him in a box of our own making? Do we know what Scripture says about the things we believe?

What do you think heaven will be like? Jesus challenges the Sadducees in the way that they assume heaven will be a continuation of life as it is on this earth. 

If there is going to be no marriage in heaven, what will our purpose be in the afterlife?
